3 June 2008

Once upon a time there was a ravishingly attractive redhead called Goldilocks. She had married a complete cad inadvertently at an early age and soon found herself on her own, looking after three beautiful children. She worked so hard to keep the roof over their little heads that she did not have time to worry about her loneliness. From time to time though, she did yearn for a knight in shining armour to come and sweep her off her feet. She missed having a good man to show her a jolly good time. For nine years, poor little Goldilocks steadfastly undertook her role as mother, breadwinner, DIY expert (with lots of swear words) until one day she decided she had had enough. Goldilocks was a well-educated gal and read lots of interesting books, but also used the internet where she found a tantalising site called Soulmates. 'Ah!' she sighed softly 'If only I could find my own Soulmate..I would be sooo happy' She did not actually believe that it would be possible to find a man of any description through this internet service. It must be said that Goldilocks had by this time become very distinctly embittered. She had kissed an AWFUL lot of toads since her complete cad had galloped off into the sunset.
However, she had plucked up the courage to make this a positive move and with gay abandon plunged through page after page of smiling men. 'I know !' she exclaimed happily, ' I will find a man who lives MILES and MILES away from me, and who likes to hear wondrous music being played in enchanting places. Then if he turns out to be a complete bastard, I will never have to see him again !' Thrilled with her own ingenuity, she wrote a short message to a smiling man with blonde hair, who was clutching a bottle of wine in his hand. A man after her own heart. Truth be told, Goldilocks had actually drunk most of a bottle of wine before plucking up the courage to write to this man. Many messages passed hither and thither. Finally, as the blond man seemed unwilling to even speak let along meet, Goldilocks once again took a deep breath and suggested a meeting. Because she was an incurable romantic, she asked blond man, whose given name was John, to meet one Autumn afternoon. Amazingly enough, John suggested a castle with wondrous gardens and a sculpture trail, the name of which was Chatsworth House. John and Goldilocks had their first meeting in the rolling gardens, under a magical blue Fosters umbrella. Although John was not holding a bottle of wine .. he was wearing a large smile, and Goldilocks smiled back with warmth in her heart (which was going pitter patter pitter patter with nervous excitement) John and Goldilocks had such a happy afternoon, walking through the green sward that they did not want to part, and John suggested that they might sup at a local hostelry... Goldilocks was so happy she thought that her heart would burst. Six hours later, Goldilocks had to bid John adieu as she had arranged to see another princess (actually this had been her get out clause in case John turned out to be a complete nutter). They exchanged the briefest peck on the cheek and went their seperate ways into the dark night However Cupid had shot his arrows straight into their hearts and our two young things, found they could not keep apart, They talked on the telephonic communication device until their mobiles burned, they emailed each other at all hours of the day and night. Finally, after six months of this heated activity, John and Goldilocks went to Venice to celebrate the happiness that they had found in each other. On April 29 2008, 11.55pm.. John asked Goldilocks to marry him so that they could be happy together for ever, and Goldilocks laughed with joy and accepted.... So, all you cynics... Soulmates does verily work and is BLOODY MARVELLOUS so thank you so much
